Did you know that your nails shed cells just like your skin does? It's true! Find out how to care for nails with these tips.
Take a few minutes at least once a week, to soak your nails in warm water. Clean under the nails to get them ready for a manicure. While hands are still damp, use a cuticle pusher to gently keep the cuticles where they belong. (If you let your cuticles grow too long, they can choke off the nutrients to your nails and stunt their growth!)
If you have any rough patches on your cuticles, use a cuticle trimmer to avoid having a hangnail. Follow that up with a vigorous buffing. Start easy with a rougher grit and work your way up to a polishing grit and a stronger motion. Increasing blood flow to the nail beds will keep your nails healthy and strong.
When you are washing dishes, consider wearing rubber gloves to protect your nails and cuticles from drying out from harsh soaps. Or make the smarter choice and switch to Avon's Cucina dish soap that is tough on dishes but easy on your hands.
Use a good hand lotion that will moisturize your cuticles and nail beds by massaging the lotion in. (Let me know your top 3 wishes for a hand lotion, and I'll find your perfect match.)
If you use a multipurpose tool like the one featured in my nail care bundle (pictured at left below), you can keep your nails smooth and healthy. And remember to NEVER bite or chew on your nails.
You really need this nail care set! It features the multipurpose file/buffer/polisher, cuticle pushes (that will also clean under your nails), a cuticle trimmer, small nipper to trim off hangnails before they get started, and toe separators for polishing your toenails.
